New Lower Price on CompuMask

Aeris has just announced that they have lowered the suggested retail on their popular CompuMask.

This unique mask features a fully air-integrated dive computer right in your mask. The readout tracking depth, time and air appears in the lower right corner of the mask. The CompuMask had retailed for $1495 but Aeris has lowered the price to $999.95. Read more about New Lower Price on CompuMask

DEMA Day 1

Greetings from Las Vegas! Home to casinos, Wayne Newton and the Diving Equipment and Marketing Association's annual trade show. The DEMA show is our annual event that brings together all the training associations, manufacturers and exotic dive locations in one location. Today we got to meet with many of our reps. We started with Ray from Aeris. We like some of their BCD's. They have a great middle of the road, weight integrated BCD that runs about $300. Look for this in time for Christmas. We also really like the Lavacore suits. Read more about DEMA Day 2

Oh Say Can You See?

Quick, name me the single most important piece of scuba equipment - I think we can all agree on the mask. Doesn't matter how good the dive is, if you can't see, what's the point? The mask is pretty simple, not too expensive and pretty basic right? Think again ...

Masks have come along way from a single piece of glass with a rubber skirt. Have you seen the old masks that don't even have finger pockets, how do you get to you nose to equalize? (You shove the bottom of the skirt against the bottom of your nose, thus blocking the nostrils and allowing you to blow against it) Masks are way more comfy today with different sizes for different faces and softer silicone for a better fit. Computers with Bells & Whistles - Oh My!

Aeris Mask

Guys like gadgets. This is true in life (I have an obsession with iPods) and it is certainly true in diving. Indeed diving can be considered the ultimate “toy” sport. As technology races ahead, we see spill over into sport diving, most notably with dive computers. Just as cell phones have gotten smaller and more compact with features (compare the brick phones from the 80s to an iPhone) dive computers have made giant strides (no pun intended) from the first generation ones that came out in the 1980’s.

It’s been awhile since I have talked about the latest and greatest gear out there. While I still love my Aeris Elite T-3 computer, there are a few new ones out there that made my socks go up and down. Read more about Computers with Bells & Whistles - Oh My!
